Welcome to the February Chatterbox Quilts’ newsletter!

It’s the end of February…does that mean that spring is just around the corner? Hopefully!

What happened this month

You may’ve noticed that you didn’t get an email from me this past Tuesday. That’s because I was at Quiltcon in Phoenix. I just got back and it was such an amazing experience. While I’m not a modern quilter, the caliber of the quilts was incredible and I learned so much from examining the quilts on display. And, of course, there were just a few vendors there too. 😉 I enjoyed viewing the quilts, chatting with vendors and meeting some of my online friends in person.

It was a whirlwind few days and now I’m back in the studio and hope to incorporate some of the ideas I got from the show. If you have the chance to attend Quiltcon, I highly recommend it!

In The Quilter’s Way, we finished the “Designing with Dresdens” projects. I love how the members took the information and guidelines for this project and created their unique projects. Here are a few of them:

Tip

When travelling (maybe to a quilt conference?), take photos of the front and back of your luggage. If your luggage is lost, it’s easier to show the airline what they’re looking for with a photo than to try and describe it.

Recommended Tools

Keeping with the travelling theme, put Apple airtags in your luggage and carry-on bag to track your baggage (you’ll know where it is before the airline does!). Why put them in your carry-on? In case you need to check that bag because there is no room in the overhead bins (ever had that happen to you?!).

As an Island Batik Ambassador, I have the best project to do in March: whatever I want to do! These challenges are the perfect opportunity to make projects that have been on my “to do” list for some time (okay, for years!).
